In Avimukta, both dancer and viewer experience the divinity of the seeker meeting the sacred. Featuring solos by mother/daughter creators and performers Ranee, Aparna, and Ashwini Ramaswamy that contrast with the ceremonial unison of the company, Bharatanatyam becomes a full-bodied, ecstatic prayer celebrating the inevitable dissolution of life.
