Chaitra Chandrashekar, Disciple of Guru DR. Mala Shashikanth and Guru Vid. Asha Ravindra, is a passionate Bharatanatyam Dancer, practicing and honing this artform for over two decades. She has initially been trained in Nanjangud parampare under which she presented her Arangetram recital.

Chaitra has performed at numerous prestigious cultural events and participated in various competitions from a very young age. She has completed major levels of examinations conducted by KSEEB (Educational Board of Karnataka) at India and attained pre-vidushi honorary title. She has been part of various lecture demonstration and dance workshops conducted by eminent dance scholars.

Life presented her with an opportunity to bring her artform all the way from India to the United States of America, and this country welcomed her with open arms. She is having a wonderful experience teaching Bharatanatyam to aspirants both young and old in the US. Such rewarding experiences have motivated her to keep continuing her passion towards a classical dance form, while professionally working as a software engineer.
